You Deserve More
I whole heartedly believe that we alone are the experts of our own lives. Most of us were not taught to listen to our inner voices and wisdom and subsequently have spent much of our lives feeling stuck or powerless. My approach to coaching is based on the belief that you are a whole person, resourced enough to overcome any obstacle, make any decision, and create a life that is fulfilling and joyful.
As part of my Whole Person Coach certification I’ve studied the science behind how negative thought patterns keep us stuck and the tools we can use to rewrite them. I’ve researched the science behind the three “brains” in our bodies; head, heart, and gut, and how each one affects our thoughts, emotions and actions.
In addition to dealing with the entirety of your inner being, there is also the entirely of your physical world. In order to address all of the issues and complexities of both areas I will work with you to create a space in which you feel safe, heard, understood, and empowered to take action. Think of me as a rental best friend, always on your side, curious, attentive, great listener, empathetic, and never gives unsolicited advice. Sound good? I hope so!
My focus on the whole person is paramount to my mission to help moms live fulfilling, joyful, courageous lives… to be a Mom & More. So what does that mean exactly? It means acknowledging your whole self, every part of your being. It means putting your actions where your values are. It means letting go of negative thinking and releasing fear in order to live up to your highest potential. Motherhood is beautiful and rewarding, but its also really f-ing hard. Not just for you or me but for everyone. There is a never ending list of things to strive for, worry about and feel like a failure at. We are often our own worst critic and mom guilt can be crippling.
Your kids don’t want super mom, they want YOU. Present. Whole. Unconditionally loving. That means seeing your children in all of their imperfect glory and loving them because of it, not in spite of it.
Together we can sort through anything that gets in the way of that and identify the values that matter most so you can stay sane and raise your children intentionally. We’re talking heart centered, value driven, joy filled motherhood. I can help you become that mom you’ve longed to be.
Regardless of your relationship status there is likely someone in your life that relies on you for support of some kind. Becoming a mom affects our whole existence, relationships included. Husbands, partners and friends often take a back seat to that precious life you are now responsible for. It’s understandable, necessary even, but that doesn’t make it any easier. Navigating relationships while sleep deprived, sore, touched out, and triggered is brutal. Many of us disengage because it’s just too hard. Trust me I’ve been there.
The inconvenient truth here is that our relationships matter. Connection matters. Support matters. Feeling love and support, camaraderie, and connection to other humans is super important to our mental and physical health (even for introverts).
It’s okay to need other people. It’s even okay to ask for help (gasp). If reaching out, connecting or asking for help seem too hard we can explore that together. You are worthy of love and belonging. You are enough even when you need help.
I saved this one for last because let’s face it, as moms we almost always put ourselves on the bottom of the priority list. Self includes not just your inner but also your outer world. What lights you up? What do you dream of? What gets in your way? What parts of you feel neglected, hidden, untapped?
Now I know there are lots of articles, blog posts and so forth out there touting the importance of self care. So what exactly is self care? Care of self. What does that really mean? I’ll give you a hint, it isn’t just massages and mani pedis. Those things can be self care but not always.
Self care must refill, rejuvenate, calm, excite, engage, restore, or revive you. It’s acknowledging all the parts of you and what you value. It’s choosing things that make you feel good. And it’s unique to you.
Self care isn’t just alone time, it’s a mindset. What?! You read that right, but I’ll say it again. Self care is a mindset. When we are in the mindset of self care we are open to seeking, finding and basking in the moments that fill us up.
Coaching is a great way to help you uncover those hidden jewels of self care and clear the mental blocks keeping you from enjoying them, making time for them, and feeling worthy of them. It is not selfish. It is survival and it is the foundation for being a good human.
